BAGS and BAGS and BAGS, World Cleanup Day was a succes thanks to all the motivated people who came to clean up on land and on the water.
Year after year the amount of litter is rising in Belgium, our society is flooded by trash and single-use packaging. Cleanups are being organised for people to clean it up while at the same time supermarkets and producers keep producing and pushing into the market all this unnecessary plastic packaging. And on top of that these enterprises are fighting against environmental legislation to reduce this packging.
As long as we don’t go towards waste reduction and reusable packaging the litter problem will never be solved, no amount of World Cleanup Days will do the job.
