Have you ever wondered where all the DEAD RATS floating in the canal come from? Or why the FISH DIE? Or how come that the WATER QUALITY is so BAD? Or why there are so many ALGAE? Or still, where some of the TRASH comes from?

We have found the culprits: the OVERFLOWS of the sewer system. The images of this overflow (hidden behind the wall) were taken at Sainctelette after a short downpour of 15 minutes. The overflows are used far too often to be called thus. They should serve only in case of exceptional rainfall. Moreover nothing is installed to prevent the trash to be discharged into the canal together with the water. Unacceptable in 2020.
