“Canal Trash Fishermen bathe in SUN while cleaning up the WATER.” It could be the title of a news article of last week trips on the canal.
While we our approaching 2.000 persons in our kayaks, the trash meter surpassed 5.000 kg of trash fished out of the water. Which is only a fraction of the total amount of trash passing by on it’s way to the sea. Not mentioning the huge amount of very small plastic pieces which will never be taken out and pose risks for birds, fish and other animals.
Not all trash items we find are single-use plastics, where did the whole package of isolation come from? Youbuild – Mpro , did it maybe come from your shop on the quay at the Havenlaan?
