On July 10, Fedasil Molenbeek filled all our kayaks with a very enthusiastic group. They were followed by four members of the Chirojeugd Vlaanderen , who came all the way from Vilvoorde by bike – almost a triathlon!
On July 14, we finally met Sabine. Her previous kayak trip had been cancelled due to stormy weather but she got luckier this time and went paddling with Clement, our new guide. Luis brought three friends along. Eva came with a friend for her totem ceremony, who was quite terrified on the water at first but very proud that she’d overcome her fears in the end – proficiat!
Anke and Stefan came with their young daughter who courageously climbed over the railing and down the ladder into the kayak as if she’d been doing it all her life. And the winners of the day were Hilke and her godson Alexis who brought back 11kg of trash – just the two of them!
